The Buros Institute of Mental Measurements publishes a series of resources that identify and provide
reviews for commercially published psychological and educational tests.

Mental Measurements Yearbook (MMY)
9th ed. (1986) - current edition
Z5814 .P8 B932 Mental Measurements Yearbook (MMY)

Published every two to three years and supplemented annually, the MMY series "contains descriptive information about tests, including test author, publisher, publication date (including dates of revisions), purpose of the test, categorization of the test, target populations/age ranges, price lists, reported scores, and availability information for users' documents such as manuals. For most tests, evaluations of the quality and utility follow descriptive information. Typically, two independent reviewers prepare critical analyses. Another useful feature of the information in the Mental Measurements Yearbook is the accompanying listing of journal references associated with each test."

Z5814 .E9 T47 Tests in Print I, II, III, IV, V (TIP)

Now in its fifth edition, TIP is a comprehensive guide to basic information (title, author, scales, publisher, cost) about commercially published tests. No evaluative information is included.

Buros Institute publications reference each other; notations follow the form of the edition of the Yearbook or Tests in Print and a number for the test in that volume:

9:215 The Ninth Mental Measurements Yearbook, test number 215
T4:315 Tests in Print, 4th edition, test number 315.

The Buros Institute, has a web site: http://www.unl.edu/buros which provides more information about the institute, the publication of the yearbooks and help files for using the guides.

Test Review Locator
( http://ericae.net/testcol.htm#trev)

This source functions as an online cumulated index to the eighth and all subsequent editions of the Buros Mental Measurements Yearbook.. The Review Locator also provides citations to reviews which have appeared in Test Critiques.

BF176 .T419 Test Critiques

Similar to the Mental Measurements Yearbook, this series began in 1984 and continues with a new volume every other year or so. "The critiques offer the reader crucial information on each individual test, such as practical applications and uses, settings in which the test is used, appropriate as well as inappropriate subjects, and guidelines for administration, scoring, and interpretation. They cite normative data, validity and reliability information, as well as what other experts have said about the test. A final feature to each review is the critique portion, which summarizes and reviews the instrument."
