This course is designed to introduce students to twentieth-century Caribbean Francophone women writers. Through literary texts and critical analysis students will consider the impact of exile on the formation of identity for French-speaking Caribbean women. Among the issues we will analyze are: what is exile? Internal/external exile; exile and migration; exile and memory, etc
