FOREST MAPS

Forest maps are filed either in the map collection, or in government documents. Federal forest maps are indexed on CD-ROM and in paper copy in the basement. See the:

Monthly Catalog of U.S. Government Publications.

MAP COLLECTION

Forest maps kept in the map collection are in drawers marked with green tags; and consist of three files:

U.S.G.S. topographic quadrangles [Forest lands]
scale=1:24,000 (Map Case 11, drawers 6-9)

U.S. Forest Service maps
various scales (Map case 16, drawer 4)

Forest maps for national forests and wilderness areas in the states of Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, northern California, and the Tongass National Forest of southeastern Alaska. Also includes Forest Visitor and Travel maps.

Oregon State Forestry Department Forest maps, scale=1:100,000 (Map Case 17, drawer 12).


GOVERNMENT DOCUMENTS

Forest maps for states other than Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and northern California are in the Government Documents Collection: A13.28: series. Here also are miscellaneous foldout maps, atlases, brochures etc. which may be relevant to the Pacific Northwest (e.g. Ochoco National Forest Road Atlas, Willamette Pass Ski Tours, etc.).
